We accept the major Hawaiʻi QUEST / Med-QUEST (Medicaid) plans — including AlohaCare, HMSA QUEST Integration, ʻOhana Health Plan, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan — coverage many practices in the islands don’t offer. We also accept Medicare and most commercial insurance plans in Hawaiʻi.

Statewide telehealth for adults & children
All of our visits are available by secure, HIPAA-compliant video — from anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands. We care for both adults and children, so your whole ʻohana can be seen from the comfort of home.
Same-day mental health crisis visits (when available)
We offer urgent, same-day mental health crisis visits — often when other practices can’t. When you’re in crisis, you shouldn’t have to wait weeks. (For everyone’s safety, controlled substances are not prescribed during crisis visits.)

Does OhanaPsych accept QUEST, Medicaid, and insurance for psychiatry for QUEST and Medicaid members?
Yes. We are in network with the Hawaiʻi QUEST Integration plans — AlohaCare, HMSA, ʻOhana Health Plan, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan — and we also accept Medicare and most commercial insurance. If you are not sure about your coverage, contact our office and we will help you check.
Can I receive psychiatry for QUEST and Medicaid members by telehealth, or do I need to come into the office?
We offer both. You can be seen in person at our Honolulu or Hilo office, or by secure telehealth from anywhere in Hawaiʻi. Some visits or treatments may require an in-person appointment, and we will let you know if that applies to your care.

QUEST telehealth rules, in plain language
Your first telehealth visit with us is always by live video — a phone call alone does not qualify as telehealth under Hawaii law (Haw. Rev. Stat. §453-1.3). Once you are established, QUEST allows phone-only (audio-only) visits for mental-health care at home, with two requirements: an in-person visit within the 6 months before your first phone visit, and an in-person visit at least every 12 months while you continue phone visits (Med-QUEST memo QI-2527). We will help you keep track of these so your coverage never lapses.
