Joanne Williams is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who brings 18 years of diverse mental health experience to OhanaPsych. She has delivered comprehensive psychiatric care to children, adolescents and adults on inpatient psychiatric units and is skilled at managing people in crisis. She has also worked as a geriatric psychiatric specialist, a crisis counselor for foster children, and a behavioral specialist. Joanne’s compassion for people in mental distress led her to continue her education to be able to diagnose and treat patients. She returned to school and earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Saint John Fisher University in New York in 2023.

Joanne is an advocate for reducing the stigma of mental illness. She uses an integrated approach to learn about each individual patient and develop her treatment recommendations. She encourages and empowers her patients to make lasting cognitive and behavioral changes.

Joanne is honored to call Hawaii her new home. She is eager to help bridge the gap in access to psychiatric care for people in Hawaii. In her free time, Joanne loves to read, journal, hike mountains, swim in the ocean and spend time with friends.
