Doris earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, in 2011. She soon began her career in behavioral health nursing, gaining extensive experience in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, forensic units, state hospitals, home care, and corrections. Doris also took on several travel assignments, working beyond her home state of Georgia. With over 12 years of psychiatric nursing experience, she was driven to further her career and knowledge.

In 2024, Doris earned a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Rural Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, from Eastern Kentucky University. Doris is deeply committed to supporting individuals as they navigate mental health challenges, and she strives to partner with her patients to help them overcome their struggles and improve their lives.

Reflecting on her journey, Doris shares, “”After years of experience in nursing, I am now able to offer more holistic and comprehensive care. I seek to draw upon my personal experiences with adversity, illness, culture, and faith to support the healing process. By combining these insights with evidence-based practices and respecting each patient’s individual strengths, aspirations, and potential, my goal is to help transform their journey, bringing clarity, purpose, and beauty into their lives.”

Outside of her professional work, Doris has a passion for travel. She has visited numerous countries, including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Belize, India, and her home country, Uganda.
