After 38 years of nursing experience, George completed advanced training at North Georgia College and State University where he earned a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. George worked for several years with indigenous people on the Cherokee Indian reservation where he found a calling to help people with mental health issues. He completed a Post-Master’s certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at East Carolina University and a certification as a CARN – Advance Practice.

George is passionate in his belief that everyone deserves access to quality psychiatric care in a timely manner. George and his wife Heather founded OhanaPsych to be part of the solution to Hawaii’s mental healthcare needs. George’s philosophy is to treat everyone as Ohana. He believes “There are many options of care to improve your quality of life. We will work together to find an evidence-based treatment that meets your needs.” George maintains hospital privileges at Adventist Health Castle in Kailua, Hawaii.

George has three Board Certifications as a Nurse Practitioner:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified
  • CARN – Advance Practice

George is married and has one son, Justin. He enjoys fishing and spending time with his twin grandsons.
